It got canceled and i believe its finally under development again this year but Im not sure to be honest. Dead island 2 there is some gameplay out there of it somewhere.

Showtime has canceled the sequel drama series after one season, Deadline has confirmed. Dead island riptide was more of a stand alone dlc, used the exact same engine and the same exact glitches were present.
There will be no second season for Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.
